Slaying myths

i ducked beneath horizons, blinded
not by those half-hearted matters.
Hid behind and allowed my defenses
to rally about my innermost treasures.

Erect and standing tall.
Graze the ions of the atmosphere
as lazily, I, in misfitted meanderings
wandered lonely through fitted spaces.

Each land that I beheld would fascinate.
Each face was different, each handshake, too.
And so I held not onto beliefs but passed
them as one would pass out gall stones.
In this act I surpassed my forefathers
and along the way I thought they smiled
as bloodied walls fell down to earth.

I conquered much upon my outing,
slain so many absurd myths and
here I am with friendships stretching
across this splendid globe.

I've turned my mind into a loose
confederation of multicultural city-states.
